# Liverpool fans don’t want Reds to sign Cantwell this summer

Norwich City have suffered a forgettable return to the Premier League this season, sitting [bottom](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table) of the table and on the verge of a return to the Championship.

One of the few positives to come out of this season has been the form of Todd Cantwell, however, with the midfielder catching the eye with some of his performances.

The 21-year-old has chipped in with [six goals and two assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/346738/Show/Todd-Cantwell) in the league, and also impressed in both matches against Liverpool.

The Reds have been [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/01/08/liverpool-enter-the-race-for-norwichs-cantwell/) with acquiring Cantwell’s services as they apparently see him as a potential option to bring in this summer, especially with Adam Lallana [expected](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/02/06/adam-lallana-line-forbrendan-rodgers-reunion-afterleicester/) to move on.

Opinion has been split on whether or not the Englishman is good enough for Liverpool, or if they even need him because of the [emergence](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/24/liverpool-fans-heap-praise-on-jones-and-elliott-after-u23s-masterclass/) of Curtis Jones this season.

These Reds supporters took to Twitter to react negatively to talk of Cantwell moving to Anfield, with some calling him overrated and others saying Jones is superior.

> He has nothing to provide that we don't already have in abundance. We are still fighting for playing time for Jones and Pedro who are equally as good as he is
