# Liverpool fans react to transfer links with Brazilian wonderkid Kayky

Many [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/01/26/liverpool-given-encouragement-in-attempts-to-sign-kylian-mbappe/) fans have been reacting to claims that the Reds are interested in bringing Brazilian wonderkid [Kayky](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/01/26/liverpool-interested-in-signing-brazilian-wonderkid-kayky/) to Anfield.

Journalist Paulo Brito broke the news on [NETFLU](https://www.netflu.com.br/)‘s [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wIWIUas7dE&feature=youtu.be) channel when he claimed that the Merseysiders have been scouting the 17-year-old Fluminense starlet for some time.

Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk, often the [go-to European destination](https://totalfootballanalysis.com/analysis/shakhtar-donetsk-and-the-brazilians-recruitment-analysis-statistics) for the best young talent South America, has to offer are also said to be interested in the [gifted teenager](https://footballtalentscout.net/2020/12/23/kayky/); as are Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Manchester City, according to [UOL](https://www.uol.com.br/esporte/futebol/ultimas-noticias/2021/01/26/shakhtar-avanca-por-kayky-joia-do-flu-manchester-city-corre-por-fora.htm).

Liverpool could hold an advantage in negotiations after recently completing the [signing of goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/liverpool-sign-brazilian-teenage-goalkeeper-pitaluga/1fn3y2cod6am71vosinbqg3pqi) from Fluminense.

Noted as a strong ball carrier with plenty of pace, [Football Talent Scout](https://footballtalentscout.net/2020/12/23/kayky/) compared Kayky with compatriot and Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.

There’s a long line of [illustrious Brazilian forwards](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2082099-ranking-brazils-20-greatest-strikers-of-all-time#:~:text=1.,Pele&text=The%20only%20player%20ever%20to,striker%20in%20Brazil's%20illustrious%20history.) to whet the appetite as Kopites consider the prospect of landing Kayky – perhaps a potential long-term successor to Roberto Firmino or even the new Philippe Coutinho.

In the meantime, these Reds have been reacting on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1353798281328005120) to the potential arrival of a star of the future, with one Kopite dubbing him a “Neymar regen”…
