# Liverpool fans laud Gini Wijnaldum after superb performance against Spurs

Some Liverpool fans have been heaping praise on Gini Wijnaldum, following a magnificent performance against Tottenham on Thursday night.

The Reds were excellent at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, outplaying their opponents and coming away with a richly-deserved 3-1 win.

Roberto Firmino gave Liverpool the lead seconds before half-time, before Trent Alexander-Arnold made it 2-0 with a clinical finish.

The visitors’ lead was halved when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg fired past Alisson from distance, but Sadio Mane sealed the victory after an error from Joe Rodon.

The win takes Liverpool to [within four points](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table) of Premier League leaders Manchester City, and just three behind Manchester United.

On a night when numerous Reds players performed superbly, Wijnaldum stood out in the No.6 role, allowing Thiago to flourish in a more advanced position.

The Dutchman shone in his all-round game, from his energy to his passing, and these Liverpool fans took to Twitter to laud another influential showing.
