# Liverpool fans mock ex-Man United star Fletcher for ‘delusional’ comments

Liverpool supporters have mocked Darren Fletcher for his comments surrounding Manchester United’s future Premier League title chances.

United have gone without a league title since Alex Ferguson departed at the end of the 2012/13 season, following a period of dominance under him during the 1990s and 2000s.

All of a sudden, it is about to be seven years without tasting league success for Liverpool’s most bitter rivals, and as the Reds have found out, barren runs can last a lot longer than expected.

United are in a [solid run of form](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/scores-fixtures) under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Fletcher appears to be confident about them continuing to improve.

Speaking to *[beIN Sports](https://www.beinsports.com/en/)*, with quotes cited by the *[Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1253619/Man-Utd-news-Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer-Liverpool-Darren-Fletcher-Premier-League-title)*, the Scot says United must aim to win the league in the next few years, tipping Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola to leave Liverpool and Manchester City, respectively:

> We need to see Manchester United winning the league in the next two or three years down the line.

> That’s being realistic. The bar has been raised in terms of what it takes to win the league.”

> United have to be ready for Man City and Liverpool to drop off, which will probably come in a couple of years.

> I can’t see Pep Guardiola still being at Manchester City in two or three years. Jurgen Klopp, too.

> Maybe it’s wishful thinking, \[but\] Man United have to put themselves in a position to capitalise if that happens.

> Next season I expect a better campaign and in two or three years, I am expecting title challenges and potentially winning.

These Liverpool fans took to Twitter to mock Fletcher’s remarks, suggesting United are still a long way from getting back on their perch.
