# Liverpool fans mock Man United after claiming they are ‘joint-top’

A number of Liverpool supporters have been mocking Manchester United, following claims that they are ‘joint-top’ of the Premier League.

The Red Devils drew level on points with the Reds on Friday night, seeing off Aston Villa 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Liverpool’s goalless draw away to Newcastle United in midweek allowed United to match their current tally, as the title race continues to take shape.

After Friday’s game, United suddenly decided to state that they were literally in the same position as their arch-rivals, with their [official Twitter account](https://twitter.com/ManUtd/status/1345127041973284864?s=20) even claiming as much.

Club legends such as [Gary Neville](https://twitter.com/GNev2/status/1345128267909627904?s=20) and [Rio Ferdinand](https://twitter.com/rioferdy5/status/1345127322278621184?s=20) produced similarly odd antics on the social media platform, all of which seemed a little bizarre.

The fact of the matter is that Liverpool remain top on their own, due to their superior goal difference, which is currently eight better than United.

These Reds fans took to Twitter to mock their adversaries over their small-time antics.
