# Liverpool fans not sold on Didi Hamann’s Kinglsey Coman suggestion

Former [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/31/liverpool-fans-mock-gary-neville-after-his-latest-remarks-about-man-united/)midfielder [Didi Hamann](https://www.lfchistory.net/players/player/profile/310) has claimed Kingsley Coman could be Liverpool’s perfect replacement for [Mohamed Salah](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/28/imagine-if-that-was-salah-liverpool-fans-fume-after-kanes-latest-dive/) if the Egyptian decides to leave Anfield next year.

There has been [speculation over Salah’s future](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/salah-barcelona-real-madrid-liverpool-star-doesnt-deserve/1brt93xn0giew10lx28qhaus17) with the Premier League champions, after the winger refused to rule out a move to move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona next summer, in an interview with*[AS](https://as.com/futbol/2020/12/19/internacional/1608349032_268932.html?m1=cG9ydGFkYV9wb3J0YWRh&m2=QUNUVUFMSURBRA%3D%3D&m3=MQ%3D%3D&m4=bm9ybWFs&m5=MjE%3D)*.

Hamann, a German international who[played for the Reds between 1999 and 2006](https://www.lfchistory.net/players/player/profile/310), told [Stadium Astro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF7yv2bMy6w) that Jurgen Klopp will already have potential replacements in mind:

> ”For me, the best winger out there at the moment is Kingsley Coman. If Salah were to move, that will have a knock-on effect. Liverpool will have to buy somebody. Whoever they sign, that team will need to buy a replacement. Things happen quickly.”

Hamann also represented the Bavarian club on[143 occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.com/dietmar-hamann/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/919) and praised the French winger’s two-footedness and his improved finishing.

Kopites would unsurprisingly be reluctant to see Salah leave the club, regardless of who was in line to replace the 28-year-old – since his arrival from AS Roma in 2017, [the £34.3m signing](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/10924233/liverpool-complete-signing-of-mohamed-salah-from-roma-on-five-year-deal) has torn up [numerous record books](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1317).

Here’s a pick of the indifferent reactions to the Coman rumours – try and spot the common theme…
