# Liverpool fans overjoyed as ‘starboy’ Harvey Elliott returns to training

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/18/virals-marcus-thuram-an-attractive-proposition-for-liverpool/) fans were treated to a glimpse of the potential in [Harvey Elliott](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/13/virals-journalist-says-harvey-elliott-is-on-track-for-a-first-team-return/) at the start of the season as the teenager made an impact early on.

Having started [three consecutive Premier League matches](https://www.sofascore.com/player/harvey-elliott/955245) the attacking midfielder looked set to become a mainstay in Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

However, the early promise was met with disappointment when the 18-year-old was [stretchered off against Leeds United](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/liverpool-engliverpool/story/4475674/harvey-elliott-injury-pascal-struijk-bannedliverpool-midfielder-says-its-wrong) with a badly dislocated ankle.

Some four months later the [England youth international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/nationalmannschaft/spieler/565822/verein_id/9565) made an eagerly anticipated return to senior training following a gruelling rehabilitation period.

Unsurprisingly, many Kopites were [delighted](https://twitter.com/JunaidM68701622/status/1483623167021268996) to see their talented teen back…

Elliott returned to Merseyside at the start of the campaign having [scored seven and provided 11 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/leistungsdaten/spieler/565822/plus/0?saison=2020) whilst on loan at Blackburn Rovers last term.

Liverpool will be [back in action](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/2021-22/men/fixtures-and-results) on Thursday night in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Arsenal, although it’s unlikely the former Fulham prospect will feature.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Absolutely huge news for both player and Klopp alike.

Clearly, the German manager was willing to put [faith in the skilful starlet](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9876161/Jurgen-Klopp-praise-Harvey-Elliott-impressive-performance-against-Bilbao.html) and should a successful comeback be completed, it shouldn’t be too long before we see Elliott back amongst the competitive action.

Perhaps the upcoming FA Cup fourth-round tie with Cardiff City in front of an adoring Anfield would be the ideal stage for the [£13.5million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/marktwertverlauf/spieler/565822) talent…
