# Liverpool fans react as Reds are linked with move for Ezri Konsa

A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting to reports linking the Reds with a move for Aston Villa star Ezri Konsa.

According to *[The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/2383850/2021/02/15/ornstein-mourinho-spurs-konsa-villa-england-wolves/?source=user_shared_article)*‘s David Ornstein, Jurgen Klopp is eyeing up the signing of the centre-back this summer, following an impressive campaign for Villa.

Tottenham are also believed to be tracking the progress of the 23-year-old, who could force his way into England’s Euro 2020 squad.

Konsa’s current deal doesn’t [expire](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ezri-konsa/profil/spieler/413403) until the summer of 2023, however, so a hefty fee may be required to prise him away from Villa Park.

Villa are hopeful of expending his deal, though, seeing him as a vital player moving forward.

There is no doubt that Liverpool need a new centre-back in the summer, with Virgil van Dijk soon turning 30 and recovering from [cruciate ligament damage](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/412585-virgil-van-dijk-knee-injury-surgery), and Joe Gomez and Joel Matip out [injured](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/sperrenundverletzungen/verein/31) too often.

These Reds supporters have been providing their thoughts on a potential deal for Konsa on Twitter.
