# Liverpool fans react to Reds’ starting XI against Newcastle

A number of Liverpool supporters have been reacting to the Reds’ starting lineup against Newcastle United this evening.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their 1-1 draw at home to West Brom on Sunday, as two valuable points were dropped in the Premier League title race.

Newcastle are languishing in 15th place currently, so Liverpool are overriding favourites to pick up a win at St James’s Park.

Klopp has [named](https://twitter.com/dmlynch/status/1344357827935170560?s=20) his starting XI for the game, with two changes made from the West Brom match.

> [#LFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/LFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) to face Newcastle: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Fabinho, Robertson; Henderson, Milner, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mane. \
> \
> Subs: Kelleher, Wijnaldum, Thiago, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Shaqiri, Origi, R Williams, N Williams.

Nathaniel Phillips starts at centre-back alongside Fabinho, with Joel Matip ruled out through injury.

Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson all start, while in midfield, Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones are in again, while James Milner replaces Gini Wijnaldum.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are in attack, while there is a place for Thiago on the substitutes’ bench.

These Liverpool fans have been reacting to the XI on Twitter, providing their thoughts on the midfield, in particular.

> Still a strong team and that bench is getting stronger! 👊👊👊
