# Liverpool Fans Welcome Yves Bissouma Transfer Links

Plenty of [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/04/trent-alexander-arnold-set-to-feature-against-wolves-report-claims/) fans have been reacting to tentative early links from [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/799040/transfer-insider-arsenal-liverpool-brighton-yves-bissouma/) of a potential January swoop for Brighton midfielder [Yves Bissouma](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/04/yves-bissouma-on-liverpool-transfer-radar/).

The 24-year-old played a [starring role](https://www.sofascore.com/liverpool-brighton-and-hove-albion/FsU) in the Reds’ disappointing late draw on the south coast last week, and Alex Crook has claimed that Jurgen Klopp has more than a passing interest in the Mali international.

Signed from Lille in 2018, the [versatile operator](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yves-bissouma/leistungsdaten/spieler/410425) is seen as the ideal successor to Gini Wijnaldum – who [could be set to leave Merseyside](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/gini-wijnaldum-liverpool-contract-latest-19258765) next summer when his contract runs out.

With Naby Keita [yet to live up to expectations](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/keita-hasnt-met-expectations-but-hes-no-flop-liverpool/1cxznz5wt2oa31p554o18w5men) at Anfield and James Milner not getting any younger, despite his [performances defying logic](https://www.90min.com/posts/6572298-james-milner-is-still-a-key-player-for-liverpool-despite-being-a-billion-years-old), the demands on Klopp’s squad have been [there for all to see this season](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9001503/Jurgen-Klopp-insists-Liverpools-injury-crisis-congested-fixture-schedule.html). The German needs a wealth of options and Bissouma could fit the bill.

Renowned for striking [some tremendously good-value deals in recent seasons](https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/the-219million-profit-liverpool-have-made-in-sales-due-to-michael-edwards/#:~:text=The%20striker%20was%20plagued%20by,a%20fee%20of%20%C2%A320million.), Michael Edwards’ repertoire of recruitment skills may be heading to Brighton in the near future to attempt to land [another bargain](https://www.90min.com/posts/6525512-every-one-of-michael-edwards-signings-at-liverpool-ranked).

Here’s a pick of the reactions from Kopitesm with one hailing him as an “absolute baller”:

> Twitter: Yves Bissouma is an absolute baller. I’d be fully onboard with signing him. (@LFCLaurie)

> Twitter: @AnfieldEdition He’s so good yes (@BenziaJr)

> Twitter: Baller I’m telling use all… just watch if he comes https://t.co/s8TLtGRWl9 (@stevogeezalfc)

> Twitter: I wouldn’t say no https://t.co/x8aZmGsLBs (@PhilPhenom)

> Twitter: Quite good tbf, wouldn’t have him as the Gini replacement unless Klopp sees him as that instantly https://t.co/1PFqH4Y1Om (@foxylfcV2\_)
