# Liverpool fans show love for Jota after he scores 10,000th Reds goal

Some Liverpool fans have been showing their love for Dioga Jota after he scored the 10,000th goal in Reds history.

Jurgen Klopp’s side hosted Midtjylland in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, getting the better of the Danish team with a 2-0 win.

It means Liverpool are on maximum points after two Group D matches, while Atalanta’s 2-2 draw at home to Ajax was also an ideal result.

It was Jota who opened the scoring at Anfield, prior to Mohamed Salah wrapping up the points from the penalty spot in the dying seconds.

In the process, the 23-year-old bagged Liverpool’s 10,000th goal, in what was a proud moment for him.

Jota already looks an excellent signing from Wolves, scoring [three goals in his first eight appearances](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1373) for the Reds.

He looks like an ideal backup to Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, bringing the kind of quality Liverpool have lacked in reserve for so long.

Given the significance of Jota’s goal, it was no surprise to see him express his pride at it on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/DiogoJota18/status/1321407103806902273?s=20) on Wednesday:
