# Liverpool fans react as Steven Caulker aims gag at Jurgen Klopp

Not many former [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/01/20/gini-wijnaldum-likely-to-leave-liverpool-this-summer-claims-journalist/) players with [fewer than five appearances](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1301) for the club have left a mark like the one [Steven Caulker](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2017/06/30/rehab-ended-caulkers-liverpool-career/) has.

The centre-half, who now [plies his trade in Turkey for Alanyaspor](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/steven-caulker/profil/spieler/121280), posted a picture on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/StevenCaulker44/status/1351584126143504388) from a training session with the caption ‘Klopp knew what I was about’ as the 29-year-old finishes off a one on one.

During his [spell on loan with the Reds](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steven-caulker-explains-how-liverpool-13260239) back in January 2016, the former QPR defender was switched to [play as a striker](https://www.football365.com/news/caulker-thought-striking-role-was-a-joke) as Jurgen Klopp went in search of an equaliser against Arsenal.

The move, along with Caulker’s Anfield spell more generally, has been met with [almost constant derision](https://www.thesportsman.com/articles/anyone-have-steven-caulker-s-number-liverpool-fans-react-as-fresh-injury-deepens-defensive-crisis) ever since from many Kopites, and the recent reminder has stirred a reaction.
