# Liverpool fans endorse rumoured interest in Declan Rice

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/01/27/joel-matip-and-jordan-henderson-available-for-clash-with-tottenham/) could make an ambitious summer move for West Ham star [Declan Rice](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/01/27/liverpool-declan-rice-transfer-rumours-summer-move/), according to a report from [The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/26/chelsea-interest-in-declan-rice-likely-to-end-with-frank-lampard-departure-west-ham), and many Reds fans have got behind the idea.

It is reported that Jurgen Klopp could attempt to lure the 22-year-old to Anfield as the German attempts to oversee a ‘refresh’ of his [all-conquering squad](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/025a-0e9f8fe852b8-ff94b0553a0e-1000--club-world-cup-firmino-wins-final-for-liverpool/#:~:text=European%20champions%20Liverpool%20have%20won,FIFA%20Club%20World%20Cup%20final.).

Part of that refresh could be forced upon the manager as regular midfield general Georginio Wijnaldum [potentially departs](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1363269/Liverpool-Transfer-News-Georgino-Wijnaldum-Next-Club-Premier-League-Gossip-SNT) at the end of the current campaign.

Having nailed down his place in [Gareth Southgate’s England side](https://talksport.com/football/791479/declan-rice-england-record-goal-iceland-nations-league/) as well as becoming an [integral part of the West Ham midfield](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/29/Show/England-West-Ham) at the age of 22, Rice has been [earning plaudits](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ferdinand-manchester-united-rice-transfer-19608504) from far and wide. That includes Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, who told [Sky Sports](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GP3CbgtLBY&list=PLfqlxZ5CR3IZ89ZgSJrQxFNAm-8qW33dO&index=46&t=0s) how he has been “really impressed” with Rice’s development.

Many Kopites have joined the plethora of admirers as the champions are linked with what could be a huge summer transfer for the West Ham “leader”, who has [captained the Irons throughout the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdaten/spieler/357662).
