# Liverpool to go back in for Brandt this summer

Liverpool will re-ignite their interest in Bayer Leverkusen attacker, Julian Brandt this summer.

The [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-jurgen-klopp-transfer-targets-12928779) reports that the 20-year-old is thought to be a key target for the Reds and the club will not be deterred by Bayern Munich’s reported interest in the player.

Previous reports have suggested that the player had agreed on a move to Bayern in the summer, but those appear to be slightly premature.

The Bundesliga giants have been to known to pick up some of the best upcoming youngsters in the German division over the years.

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/) attempted to sign Brandt during the January transfer window but were unable to convince the Bundesliga side to complete a deal.

The tricky winger has been key to Leverkusen in recent seasons and has scored four goals in all competitions this season.

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/) will be hoping that having Klopp in charge will be enough to draw the German international to Anfield this summer, rather than choosing Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich.
