# Liverpool keen on Atletico defender Theo

Liverpool are reportedly keen to make a move for Atletico Madrid defender Theo Hernandez this summer.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet [Cadena Ser](https://cadenaser.com/ser/2017/03/21/deportes/1490108377_616227.html) in recent days, the Reds have established their interest in the young defender but will face competition from Manchester City in his services.

Theo is currently out on loan with Atletico’s fellow La Liga outfit Deportivo Alaves and has been impressing any with some mature, dominant defensive displays.

Jurgen Klopp will be looking towards the transfer market for defensive reinforcements this summer and it looks as though Theo is firmly on the radar. However, it looks as though it’ll take a high offer for Atletico to give away their promising 19-year-old defender.

If the Reds are to pursue their interest in Theo this summer, they’ll need to fend off a host of clubs who are also interested. The likes of Bayern Munich, Marseille and Barcelona are all stated to have shown interest.
