# Liverpool keen on a move for Goretzka

Liverpool have been keeping a close eye on Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka in recent weeks, with Jurgen Klopp claimed to be a big fan of the young German.

According to a report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-set-join-tottenham-everton-10123339) in recent times, the Reds are taking a keen interest in the 22-year-old and have been impressed with what they have seen from him.

Goretzka has always been touted for big things over in Germany and has established himself as a regular for Schalke this season, leading to interest in his services ahead of next season.

Whilst the report from the Mirror focuses predominantly on Klopp’s interest in Goretzka’s teammate Max Meyer ahead of a potential summer move, the former Borussia Dortmund manager is claimed to rate the youngster ‘highly’.

However, if the Reds are to genuinely pursue their interest in the midfielder they will have to fend off competition from Bayern Munich, with Carlo Ancelotti also stated to be keen.
