Liverpool’s midfield could definitely [do with an injection of youth](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/startseite/verein/31/saison_id/2020) in it, with James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum all now in their 30s, and Thiago reaching that milestone later this year.

It could be that Neuhaus is viewed as a potential replacement for Wijnaldum, should he opt to depart at the end of the season amid [strong links with Barcelona](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/georginio-wijnaldum-liverpool-contract-future-23330238).

Not only has the [thrice-capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/florian-neuhaus/profil/spieler/278332) Germany international [scored and assisted four times apiece](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/319448/Show/Florian-Neuhaus) in the Bundesliga this season, he has also [won 173 tackles](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/player/florian-neuhaus/stats) in 2020/21, highlighting his off-the-ball work.

No Liverpool player has [won more than 2.2 tackles per game](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/26/Show/England-Liverpool) this season, so Neuhaus could hugely strengthen this string to the Reds’ bow.
