# Liverpool ‘preparing bid’ for £58.5m French winger after stalled contract talks according to reports

This summer could be huge for the Reds in regards to their activity in the transfer market.

Following the clubs poor form last season compared to their usual standards, reinforcements will be needed.

Liverpool are [looking to sell some of the fringe players](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/09/liverpool-hoping-to-raise-60m-in-transfer-funds/) in the squad – helping them to fund further transfers.

Reports have suggested that the cub are [working on limited finances](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/08/liverpool-summer-finance-struggles/) this summer, so player sales are integral.

According to sources, however, the club are looking at Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman this summer.

## Read Liverpool Verdict

As cited by [The Anfield Buzz](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldBuzz) above, the Spanish news outlet claims the Reds are interested in Coman.

However, it seems a very unlikely move for the club given the price that would be required for the 25-year-old.

With a current [market value](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kingsley-coman/marktwertverlauf/spieler/243714) of £58.5million, Coman would come at an astronomical price for the club this summer.

Not only this, but the source isn’t one of the more reliable that has reported on the club in the past.

We don’t feel this will be a player that the club will be targeting, with other positions needing further attention.

The Reds have [already signed Ibrahima Konaté](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/28/liverpool-sign-ibrahima-konate/) this summer, and another midfielder is desperately needed to [replace Georginio Wijnaldum](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/11/liverpool-wijnaldum-psg-departure/).
