# Liverpool linked with €40m move for midfielder

Liverpool are still interested in Porto midfielder Ruben Neves, according to Portuguese newspaper [Record](https://www.record.xl.pt/futebol/futebol-nacional/liga-nos/fc-porto/detalhe/ruben-neves-agrada-a-klopp.html).

The 19-yer-old apparently has a €40million release clause (roughly £32million) in his contract and it seems that the Portuguese club will not accept any less, which could well put Liverpool off as that would be a huge chunk of their budget spent on a teenager.

Neves is a Portuguese international but wasn’t selected for Euro 2016 so any negotiations could take place immediately rather than after the tournament if the Reds do decide to try to bring him in.

The midfielder played 43 times in all competitions for Porto last season, scoring two goals.

Despite his young age, he is quite an experienced player, having competed in the Champions League and Europa League for Porto.

Liverpool are being linked with a huge host of players so it remains to be seen if there is any substance behind these reports.
