In [a recent interview](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-need-better-divock-origi-says-jamie-carragher-a4428266.html), former Liverpool star, now TV pundit, Jamie Carragher said that The Reds’ need a better fourth attacking option than Divock Origi and, looking at his stats, Werner could be the man to help bolster the Reds’ attack.

Werner has scored 27 goals in 36 games for Leipzig this season, and he’s also added a further 12 assists, meaning he is averaging more than one goal contribution per game.

Liverpool have a fearsome front three in Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah, but adding a fourth player like Werner could take the Reds’ attacking threat to a new level, especially if he can produce similar stats at Anfield.

Recent global events will impact the finances of clubs across the world and it reamins to be seen how that will affect the transfer market as a whole, but for now, it looks like Liverpool are continuing to work on a deal to sign Werner.
