# Liverpool meet with Xherdan Shaqiri’s representatives

Officials from Liverpool met with the representatives of Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri on Friday, according to [Dean Jones of Bleacher Report](https://twitter.com/DeanJonesBR/status/1006092781079678976).

The Reds are in the market for some new attackers to help add depth to their squad and apparently see Shaqiri as a player who can come in and help them.

The Swiss international apparently has a £12m relegation release clause in his contract which can now be activated as the Potters were unable to stay in the top-flight.

The 26-year-old is currently on international duty with Switzerland ahead of the World Cup and he’s apparently eager to find a new club before the tournament starts.

Shaqiri, who scored 15 goals in 92 games for Stoke, refused to comment about the speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool when interviewed a few days ago, but it appears that the Reds are interested in signing him this summer.
