# Liverpool monitoring Fiorentina striker Federico Chiesa

Liverpool are thought to be keen on landing Fiorentina striker Federico Chiesa this summer, according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, relayed by the [Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1137432/Liverpool-have-Federico-Chiesa-on-transfer-shortlist-as-Jurgen-Klopp-plots-summer-deals).

The report claims that the Reds have joined Juventus and Inter Milan in a battle to sign the highly-rated 21-year-old, who scored 12 times in all competitions last season.

The Reds have been linked with a move for Chiesa in the past, and it appears as if Jurgen Klopp has placed the striker on his shortlist once again this summer.

Liverpool look set to bring in a couple of additions to their squad ahead of the new campaign, with a high-profile forward set to arrive on Merseyside to bolster Klopp’s attacking options.

However, the report claims that a deal for Chiesa could be difficult for the Reds, with Fiorentina unwilling to sell the striker, who is contracted at the club until 2022.

If Liverpool can find a way to secure Chiesa’s services next season, it could prove to be a smart signing, with the dynamic forward regarded as a future star.
