# Liverpool Player Ratings: Sheffield United (A)

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/02/28/liverpool-suffer-potential-blow-in-quest-to-sign-harvey-barnes/)returned to winning ways with a[hard-fought 2-0 victory over Sheffield United](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W-9MYO7zDQ) at Bramall Lane on Sunday evening.

Curtis Jones opened the scoring with a calm finish into the bottom left-hand corner after[fine work from Trent Alexander-Arnold](https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2021/feb/28/sheffield-united-v-liverpool-premier-league-live) to keep the ball in play, before a deflected [Roberto Firmino](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/02/27/quiz-how-much-do-you-remember-from-roberto-firminos-season-so-far/)strike found its way into the back of the net.

The Reds were[far from their best at times](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/02/28/sheffield-united-vs-liverpool-premier-league-live-score-latest/) but there were signs of life from the reigning champions as they picked up a crucial three points after what has been [a dismal run of form](https://www.skysports.com/liverpool-results).

Although[Diogo Jota was absent with illness](https://twitter.com/PremierInjuries/status/1366094174387384332?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet) there were positives for Liverpool, as both Naby Keita and James Milner returned to get important minutes under their belts.

Certainly a step in the right direction for Jurgen Klopp’s side who [now face Chelsea](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/2020-21/first-team/fixtures-and-results)on Thursday night at Anfield in what looks like a [huge clash in the race for the top four](https://www.premierleague.com/tables).
