# Liverpool ready to splash £8.75m on Juventus youngster

Liverpool are ready to spend £8.7 million on Juventus youngster Francesco Cassata.

The Italian is versatile, being predominantly a central midfield player but can also slot in at right-back.

According to Italian journalist, [Gianluca Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/liverpool-to-offer-10m-to-juventus-for-young-player-cassata), his performances while on loan at Serie B side Ascoli have caught the attention of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

The 19-year-old has scored just once and managed two assists in 19 appearances for the Serie B side who sit 12th in the league.

Cassata has come through the youth ranks at Juventus but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Italian giants.

It’s unclear at the moment as to whether or not Massimo Allegri’s side would be willing to enter business with Liverpool for one of their youngest prospects.

Cassata has been capped by Italy at youth level, he currently features for the U20s. He has previously been capped at U17s, U18s and U19s level.
