# Liverpool recall Anderson Arroyo from Mallorca and will send him to Genk

Liverpool have recalled Anderson Arroyo from Real Mallorca and will send him to Genk, as per James Pearce of the [Liverpool Echo.](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-youngsters-loan-cancelled-now-15063370)

The Reds signed the 18-year-old defender from Colombian side Fortaleza CEIF in January but had to send him on loan as he didn’t qualify for a work permit.

The decision was made to send him to Mallorca for 18 months but less than a year into the deal, the Reds have decided that he will be better off at Genk.

Arroyo was not part of Mallorca’s first team and was playing games for their B side, but he’s likely to feature for Genk at the highest level.

Not only would that allow him to develop more quickly, but playing in Belgium’s highest division will be more beneficial in terms of his work permit application n the future.

The teenager has already had a medical with Genk and his loan move there will be made official later this week.
