# Liverpool receive huge boost in quest to sign Havertz this summer

Liverpool have received a huge boost in their quest to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

According to *[El Desmarque](https://eldesmarque.com/madrid/real-madrid/noticias/188338-klopp-paga-mas-imposible-decir-no-florentino-perez-y-el-real-madrid-lo-dan-por-perdido-ed)*, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has conceded defeat in the race to sign the midfield star as he thinks he will join the Reds.

The lure of playing under Jurgen Klopp is seen as a key reason behind Havertz fancying a move to Liverpool, as is the financial offer on the table.

The Reds have been [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/19/liverpool-claimed-to-have-made-e125m-bid-for-havertz/) with the 20-year-old numerous times this season, as he continues to shine for Leverkusen.

Havertz could be a wonderful signing by Liverpool if a move does materialise, bringing so much quality to the midfield.

The one thing that can occasionally hamper the Reds is a lack of magic in the middle of the park, but the [£81 million-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kai-havertz/profil/spieler/309400) Havertz has that magic in abundance.

He has already scored [30 goals and registered 21 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kai-havertz/profil/spieler/309400) in the Bundesliga, despite his age, while his average of [2.3 key passes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/326413/History/Kai-Havertz) per game in this league this season is better than any Liverpool midfielder, with [only Trent Alexander-Arnold (2.6)](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/26/Show/England-Liverpool) posting a superior number from the whole Reds’ squad.

It is crucial to plan for the future, too, and bringing in such a talented, young player like Havertz could give Liverpool a cornerstone player for years to come.
