# Liverpool reignite Brandt interest as Fekir alternative

Liverpool are ready to reignite their interest in Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt as an alternative to Nabil Fekir.

[The Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/713520/Liverpool-transfer-news-Julian-Brandt-Bundesliga-Nabil-Fekir-Man-Utd-Jurgen-Klopp-LFC) reports that the German international has once again emerged as a transfer target for Jurgen Klopp.

A deal to sign Nabil Fekir is looking unlikely after a move to Anfield from Lyon fell through at the last minute.

There have been some contrasting reports behind the reasons why a deal fell through, but the Reds now appear ready to move on to other targets.

Brandt has long been [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2018/05/21/52-5m-price-tag-slapped-on-liverpool-target-brandt/) with a move to Anfield, with Klopp a known admirer of the player.

There has also been interest from Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in the past.

Brandt hit the headlines recently when he was named in the German World Cup squad ahead of Leroy Sane.

He impressed during the brief moments he featured for Germany during their short World Cup stay.
