Liverpool manager [Jurgen Klopp](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/02/15/liverpool-fans-react-to-sensational-jurgen-klopp-press-conference/) has shown a desire to [bolster the youth ranks](https://www.football365.com/news/liverpool-sign-16-year-old-derby-county-starlet) during his time in charge at Anfield, perhaps with an eye to the club’s Academy [providing future stars](https://www.fotmob.com/news/1v0j70rwr6ebm14pxsnxougbdg/klopp-targets-20-academy-players-in-liverpool-squad) for the first team.

During his tenure on Merseyside, Klopp has [utilised academy graduates](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/dec/08/jurgen-klopp-believes-academy-products-have-saved-liverpool-season-midtjylland) such as Curtis Jones, Jake Cain, Neco Williams, Caoimhin Kelleher, Rhys Williams, Nathaniel Phillips and Leighton Clarkson – not to mention a [certain Trent Alexander-Arnold](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1311).

Often noting his desire to [leave a dynasty](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jurgen-klopp-building-liverpool-dynasty-15700360) at the club, Liverpool’s recent academy additions suggest that Klopp certainly seems to have at least one eye on life after he exits; and given the glowing reference from his former coach, Scanlon could well be a future star for the Reds.
