# Liverpool submit loan-to-buy offer for Ousmane Dembele

Liverpool have submitted an official ofter to Barcelona for winger Ousmane Dembele, according to [Gianluca Di Marzio](https://twitter.com/GFFN/status/1268160569795907586).

The offer made is reportedly for an initial loan with an option-to-buy proposal built into the deal.

However, the reporter claims that Dembele currently has no intentions of leaving the Nou Camp and as such, a move looks highly unlikely.

It was [reported](https://www.90min.com/posts/liverpool-warn-leipzig-to-lower-timo-werner-asking-price-ousmane-dembele-among-targets-01e9d7bg30s8?utm_source=RSS) last month that the Reds had identified the Frenchman as a possible alternative to Timo Werner and if Di Marzio is correct, then it looks like those reports were accurate.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be a big fan of Dembele, in fact, it was the German who [recommended](https://www.90min.com/posts/liverpool-warn-leipzig-to-lower-timo-werner-asking-price-ousmane-dembele-among-targets-01e9d7bg30s8?utm_source=RSS) the winger to his former club Borussia Dortmund in 2015.

It makes sense, in the current climate, for Liverpool to look to sign Dembele on loan with the option to buy.

The winger has suffered badly from injury issues at Barcelona so risking a large transfer fee on him may not be the wisest move, especially as the Reds are likely to feel a significant financial impact due to the global pandemic.

However, if the player isn’t interested in a move, then this all becomes rather irrelevant.

However, if Barcelona inform the Frenchman that they are looking to move him on, then it looks like Liverpool will be right in the mix as a possible destination.
