The 16-year-old has attracted interest from clubs all around Europe and Atletico Madrid face a battle to hold on to one of their finest young talents.

The young striker is keen to follow in the footsteps of his footballing idol Fernando Torres as he wore the number 35 shirt, the same one which Torres wore on his debut for the Spanish club and the Reds will be hoping that he will follow Torres’ career path also by joining the Anfield club.

The forward has represented the Spanish national side at under 16 level and has also shown his prolific form in front of goal as he managed to find the back of the net 30 times for the youth team last year.

Liverpool are keen to enhance their academy and challenge the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City and bringing in Mollejo could do this.

The Reds have a ban on signing academy players but would hope to agree a deal to sign the youngster when the ban is lifted.
