# Liverpool target Ruben Neves set for Wolves move

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp want to add quality to the squad this summer now they have a Champions League campaign to deal with next season, not to mention their ambitions to mount a stronger challenge for the Premier League title.

Porto midfielder Ruben Neves has been linked with Liverpool for much of the summer, with both Chelsea and [Juventus also interested](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2017/06/18/liverpool-rivalled-juventus-ruben-neves/) in securing his signature, and it appears as if the player is closing in on a move to England but not to a club many would have expected.

Reports in Portugal claim that Neves will be making a move to Championship side Wolves for just €18m, a fee well below his €40m release clause.

Porto are in serious financial trouble with FFP and need to bring in some cash to help balance the books and Neves was a likely candidate to be sold.

Super agent Jorge Mendes has strong ties to Wolves and has facilitated a number of transfers to the club already and has been looking to bring Neves to England this summer, and Wolves appear to be the club to do so.

It appears as if this is a stepping stone move for Neves, if it goes through at all, just to help Porto meet the FFP regulations, and a Premier League move is still on the cards further down the line, but depending on how he does at Wolves will be a large factor in Chelsea or Liverpool’s decision to try and sign him at a later date.
