# Liverpool targeting Coventry midfielder Bayliss

Liverpool are reportedly targeting Coventry’s Tom Bayliss this summer in a £500k move, according to TEAMtalk, as cited on [the Shields Gazette](https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-transfer-news-rafa-benitez-eyes-5m-attacker-as-liverpool-join-toon-in-race-for-league-one-star-1-9756343).

It’s also reported that Newcastle United and Everton are interested in the youngster, who has impressed since breaking into the Coventry first-team squad.

Bayliss first made it into the first-team last season with Coventry last season and he did not look back, enjoying a great season.

The 20-year-old played a key role as Coventry won promotion to League One last year through the play-offs.

Bayliss has again played a key role this season, playing in 38 games in League One as Coventry enjoyed an impressive campaign, narrowly missing out on a play-off place in eighth.

The midfielder was rewarded for his fine form with his first call-up to the England U19s squad last year.

His fine performances do not seem to have gone unnoticed though and Coventry may have a big fight on their hands if they want to keep a hold of their most prized asset this summer with the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle among the teams interested in securing his services.
