# Liverpool to face Villa in Carabao Cup on 17 December

Liverpool will play against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Tuesday 17 December.

The Reds will, therefore, be using two different squads because they are also in action in the FIFA Club World Cup on Wednesday 18 December in Qatar.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp threatened to forfeit his team from the fixture due to the fixture congestion but he will now need to decide who stays behind for the quarter-final and who will travel to Qatar.

It is expected that the Reds will field an extremely young side against Villa, with the senior players travelling for the Club World Cup.
