# Liverpool U18s star Edvard Tagseth to miss rest of season

Liverpool U18s midfielder Edvard Tagseth will miss rest of season with a leg injury.

The 17-year-old has been a key player in Liverpool’s push for the U18’s title but Steven Gerrard’s men will have to end the season without the Norwegian.

Speaking to the [Norwegian Liverpool Official Supporters Club](https://www.liverpool.no/nyheter/2018/2/sesongen-over-for-tagseth/), the teenager confirmed that he wouldn’t play again this year due to the stress injury between his knee and hamstring.

> The season is over. I will not be back in normal football training again before May 15th. It’s not a stress fracture, but the degree below it. I have to admit that it feels a bit heavy now. There will be a lot of strength training to improve the core muscles until May. It’s important that I do not start to hang my head because of this. I’m aiming to get stronger back next season.

Liverpool currently sit in second place in the U18 Premier League table, just four points behind Manchester United, but they do have a game in hand over them.

Gerrard’s men will feel the loss of Tagseth, and although he probably could play with the injury as it is, doing so would risk further damage so the decision has been made for him to sit out the remainder of the campaign.
