# Liverpool will play games at neutral venues if the season resumes

All 20 Premier League sides have confirmed that they still intend to finish the 2019/20 season but the league’s new plans will mean that, if football does resume, Liverpool won’t be able to lift the league title at Anfield.

As reported by [The Guardian](https://t.co/w0yyKOdZQm?amp=1), the Premier League intend to play all games in eight to ten stadiums, with no club having the advantage of playing at their own ground.

The league also intend to use stadiums such as Brighton’s AMEX Stadium, which is not in a highly populated part of the city, unlike Anfield, for example, which is in the middle of a residential area.

Of course, there are still plenty of obstacles left to navigate before football can return but it looks like a decision has been made about where teams will play their games.

Liverpool will not be allowed to play at Anfield and as such, they won’t be able to lift the title at their own stadium as and when they get enough points to confirm themselves as champions.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

With football looking like it’ll be played behind closed doors whenever it does return, it’s a shame that the Liverpool players and fans won’t be able to celebrate together, but that’s just something that can’t even be contemplated and as such, everyone needs to accept that it is the right decision.

Football will, rightly, only return when it is safe for everyone involved to play the games, but when that time will be still remains up in the air.

With the chances of a null and void season seemingly off the table, Liverpool will almost certainly be crowned as Premier League champions in some capacity but how, where and when that happens is something that nobody would be able to confidently predict right now.
