# Liverpool’s misfiring front-three slammed by Steve Nicol

Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol says the form of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino is a cause for concern.

The Reds drew 0-0 away to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, in what proved to be a frustrating 90 minutes.

While Liverpool’s defence and midfield coped well on the whole, it was the attack who continually let them down.

Salah, Mane and Firmino were the inspiration behind last season’s march to the Champions League final, but there are too many insipid showings from them currently.

Firmino left the field injured in the first half at Old Trafford, while his fellow attacking teammates were poor throughout.

[Speaking](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1091966/Liverpool-news-Mohamed-Salah-Sadio-Mane-Roberto-Firmino-Steve-Nicol-Man-Utd) to ESPN FC, Nicol admits he is concerned about the trio’s malaise, at such a crucial point in the season:

> Unfortunately going forward the front three are firing blanks.

> I can’t remember them ever being, the three of them, so poor at the same time.

> Salah’s had spells when he didn’t score at the start of the year and Firmino sometimes hasn’t knitted it together as well.

> But every single thing is going wrong for the three of them now, including Mane.

> The front three have got to find form. If you’re not scoring goals, it doesn’t matter who you’re playing against.

Jurgen Klopp will be desperate for his influential attacking stars to return to form at home to Watford on Wednesday night.

Firmino could miss out through injury, but Salah and Mane must find their groove again, or risk actually becoming an unlikely weak-link in Liverpool’s title charge.
