# Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet in-line for surprise start on Tuesday night

Liverpool shot-stopper Simon Mignolet is in-line for a surprise start for Belgium on Tuesday night.

[Kristof Terreur](https://twitter.com/HLNinEngeland/status/977830204587630593) reports that Mignolet is due to start against Saudi Arabia because of a hamstring injury sustained by Thibaut Courtois.

The Chelsea goalkeeper has returned to his club to continue his recovery, he now faces a race against time to be fit enough for the Blues’ top-four clash with Spurs next Sunday.

Mignolet has fallen out-of-favour at Anfield in recent weeks. Jurgen Klopp appears to have made Loris Karius his number one for the remainder of the season at least.

The 30-year-old has not featured in the Premier League since New Year’s Day in Liverpool’s 2-1 win away at Burnley.

Having lost his place in the Liverpool starting XI there have been reports emerging about his future at the club, however, he’ll undoubtedly be focusing on securing a place in Roberto Martinez’s squad ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
