# Loris Karius completes two-year loan move to Besiktas

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has officially completed a two-year loan move to Turkish giants Besiktas, [it has been confirmed](https://twitter.com/neiljonesgoal/status/1033004459943710720).

Besiktas’ Twitter account has confirmed the news, despite no official word from the Reds.

The German will arrive for his first ever tenure in the Super Lig as he looks to help Besiktas fill the void left by Fabri’s summer departure, with the Spaniard having joined Fulham.

Karius was Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper for much of last season but saw his career at Anfield all but ended after two high-profile errors in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid cost the Reds.

This also led Jurgen Klopp to move for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson, with the Brazilian international joining for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £67 million.

Karius’ future then came under scrutiny, with speculation surrounding his position at Liverpool. However, it has since been confirmed that he will be playing his football in Turkey for the foreseeable future.

Simon Mignolet is now set to stay at Liverpool to act as a deputy for Alisson.
