# Lovren available for Bayern clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp delivered an update on the condition of Dejan Lovren ahead of his side’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

The Reds lock horns with the reigning Bundesliga champions in the second leg of their round of 16 fixture, with the tie finely poised after the 0-0 draw at Anfield in February.

Klopp, as quoted by [The Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/jurgen-klopp-press-conference-live-15913729), discussed how his squad are preparing for the match at the Allianz Arena and spoke about Lovren’s fitness.

The German tactician had positive news on the Croatian after he missed the 4-2 win against Burnley on Sunday afternoon, and stated that he is an ‘option’ for Wednesday’s fixture.

Klopp said:

> Dejan was in the squad against Burnley but I don’t think he was ready to play. He trained in a normal way this morning and he is an option. To play 90 minutes might be a bit much but we will see.

Liverpool have fielded a central defensive partnership of Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip in recent fixtures, and this could be set to continue against Bayern, with the Reds boss unsure about Lovren’s ability to last for a full match.
