# Lovren could miss Burnley game after missing training

Dejan Lovren’s return from injury could be delayed with the player missing training on Wednesday, according to the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/latest-update-dejan-lovrens-fitness-15934959).

The Croatian defender has been out of action since limping off against Wolves back in January and had been expected to return soon.

Lovren returned to the side for the visit of Leicester City, but aggravated the injury in training, leading to his extended absence from the side.

Ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Burnley, some had expected Lovren to be in contention to return. But, after missing training on Wednesday Lovren could be set to miss the visit of the Clarets.

Despite Lovren’s injury, Liverpool have been relatively solid at the back, with Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk having some good performances in defence for the Reds.

James Milner and Alberto Moreno were also absent from training on Wednesday, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster were both in action, with the pair continuing to recover from injury.
