# Maguire could miss Leicester’s trip to Liverpool

Leicester City star Harry Maguire could miss his side’s trip to Liverpool on Wednesday evening.

Speaking ahead of the Foxes’ game against the Premier League leaders, manager Claude Puel was quizzed on the condition of the England international defender.

As quoted by the [Leicester Mercury](https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-city-harry-maguire-injury-2451141), the Frenchman was unable to deliver a positive update on Maguire’s fitness, admitting that he did not know whether or not he will be fit to face the Reds at Anfield.

Discussing the extent of the injury his central defender sustained during the Foxes’ 4-3 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon, Puel said:

> It is his leg. I don’t think it is a serious injury but he could not continue in the game.

> Perhaps he could not have the good jump \[for Wolves’ second goal\] perhaps because I think he received small injury before the second goal. We will see.

Liverpool will be desperate to continue their strong form with a win against Leicester.

The Reds have the chance to further extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table after coming from behind to defeat Crystal Palace at Anfield last weekend.

Jurgen Klopp and his men will undoubtedly be hoping that their counterparts are weakened by the absence of their talismanic defender on Wednesday.
