# Man City and Tottenham keen on signing rumoured Liverpool target Cakir

Manchester City and Tottenham are in the running to sign goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to *[Asist Analiz](https://www.asistanaliz.com/futbol/trabzonspora-ugurcan-cakir-icin-25-milyon-euro-teklif-geldi-a56020)*.

The Trabzonspor goalkeeper has been [tipped](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/01/31/trabzonspor-reject-e24m-bid-from-liverpool-for-cakir/) to make a move to Liverpool numerous times in the past, but nothing has materialised so far.

Now some of their Premier League rivals appear to be keen on a move, with Spurs reported to have shown the most interest, and Leicester City and Burnley also mentioned, along with City.

Cakir has made [18 Super Lig appearances](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/258840/Show/Ugurcan-%C3%87akir) for Trabzonspor this season, as well as winning [one cap](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U%C4%9Furcan_%C3%87ak%C4%B1r) for Turkey.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Despite the constant [links](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/09/04/fans-react-to-liverpools-interest-in-ugurcan-cakir/) suggesting Liverpool are interested in Cakir, I simply don’t see the need to sign him.

Alisson is the Reds’ undisputed first-choice ‘keeper, but in Adrian they have a very able deputy who has [won all 10 league games](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1338) that he has played in this season.

At 33, the Spaniard still has plenty of years ahead of him and he suits Liverpool’s ball-playing style down to the ground.

While Adrian has a pass completion rate of 71.3 per cent in the league this season, according to *[WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/73399/Show/Adri%C3%A1n)*, Cakir’s is just [58.3 per cent](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/258840/Show/Ugurcan-%C3%87akir), suggesting he would struggle in terms of distribution, compared to the Spaniard.
