# Man City face left-back injury crisis ahead of Liverpool clash

Manchester City are facing somewhat of a left-back injury crisis ahead of their trip to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

City have lost on their last six visits to Anfield in all competitions and they will be looking to stop that run on Sunday and thus remain above the Reds in the Premier League table.

Pep Guardiola’s side will provide a huge test for a Liverpool side that hasn’t quite been firing on all cylinders in recent weeks, but their left-back issues could be something that the Reds look to exploit.

Benjamin Mendy is a major doubt for Sunday’s game whilst Fabian Delph has already been ruled out, meaning Aymeric Laporte could be forced to fill in at left-back.

Laporte had a tough time playing at left-back when the sides met at Anfield in the Champions League, with Mohamed Salah proving too much for him to handle.

As it stands, it looks like Laporte will be up against Salah once again on Sunday and that could be a match-up that Liverpool look to exploit.
