# Man United aiming to complete signing of Liverpool target Sancho

Manchester United are working hard to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, according to the *[Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/man-utd-chelsea-go-head-21437662?_ga=2.154807537.890554058.1580719389-2111039688.1579460425)*.

The 19-year-old [could leave](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2849588-borussia-dortmund-ceo-expects-jadon-sancho-exit-eventually-amid-transfer-rumours) the Bundesliga giants this summer, with a [return to England potentially on the cards](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7970193/Manchester-United-Chelsea-set-100m-summer-transfer-battle-Jadon-Sancho.html).

Liverpool are one of the clubs to have been [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/12/28/liverpools-interest-in-jadon-sancho-confirmed/) with the winger, who has contributed [12 goals and 12 assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/346300/Show/Jadon-Sancho) in the league this season.

United are also keen on acquiring Sancho’s signature, however, and this latest [report](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/man-utd-chelsea-go-head-21437662?_ga=2.154807537.890554058.1580719389-2111039688.1579460425) claims that they think they are in a good position to sign him.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Sancho is a hugely exciting player, so I would never be against the idea of Liverpool signing him.

To be producing the numbers he is at such a tender age – [28 goals and 33 assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/346300/History/Jadon-Sancho) for Dortmund – speaks volumes about his potential.

That being said, I don’t believe there is a necessity to sign Sancho, as long as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all at Anfield.

They remain Liverpool’s undisputed first-choice front-three, so it is hard to see how Sancho would play every week if he did arrive.

Given his pedigree, I would be surprised if the teenager didn’t want regular playing time, making someone like United a more attractive proposition.

A lot depends on Sancho’s attitude to not coming in as a star man – if he is happy to feature sporadically to begin with, Liverpool should do all they can do sign him.
