# Marko Grujic eyes future spot in the Liverpool team after Germany loan

Liverpool loanee Marko Grujic is maintaining his desire to break through at Anfield and earn a regular starting spot at the club.

The Serbian midfielder [has told the Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/marko-grujic-opens-up-liverpool-15316070) that he still harbours dreams of playing for the Reds, despite once again being sent out on loan by the club.

> I had a plan to one day play for Liverpool and that’s still the case. It’s not easy of course because Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world.
>
> But everyone has their own different way. I think at my age playing in the Bundesliga this season can help me to reach that goal – that one day I can play regularly for Liverpool.

Grujic joined Hertha Berlin on loan this summer after a stint in the Championship with Cardiff last season.

He impressed while playing for the latter and there was talk of a Premier League loan with the newly-promoted side, but he instead joined the Bundesliga outfit.

Grujic arrived at the club back in 2016 and is now on his third loan spell away from Anfield.

The midfielder has struggled with injuries in the past, but he’ll be hoping to put that behind him this season as he focuses on his development in Germany.

The 22-year-old already has a handful of Liverpool appearances under his belt but has never managed to break through as a regular.
