# Markovic overwhelmed by support

**Lazar Markovic** has admitted that the overwhelming support he has received from his teammates has been a **crucial factor** in him settling on Merseyside.

The Serb, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2014, has been quick to **pay tribute** to the encouragement and reassurance that his colleagues have provided and how they have allowed him to adjust to a new league and country effortlessly.

After finding life difficult on the pitch in the early stages of the season, the 20-year-old has finally began to show glimpses of the potential that brought him to Merseyside, including a match winning performance at Sunderland last week.

Speaking to the **official Liverpool website**, Markovic has told of his gratitude towards his teammates for all their help:

“*They have all been extremely helpful, they have helped me settle in and they are still helping me,*” said the winger who joined the Reds for £20 million in July. “*There is no end to the help that I have been receiving from them, and also the supporters have been very helpful. I am thankful to everybody. I knew right at the beginning that this is going to be my home for the future. I feel at home already here,*” he added.

Markovic was also keen to discuss his **versatility** that has been vital in recent weeks with manager Brendan Rodgers deploying him as a wing back in previous matches.

The former Benfica player has more often than not in his career been employed as an attacking winger but was quick to point out that he’s more than comfortable in his newfound position.

“*I can play in different positions and I like playing different positions. The manager knows best so I am prepared to be guided by him on what is the best position for me. I like challenges like that. I am learning every day, I am building and adding up my knowledge. I think I’m getting better and better every day.*“
