# Matty Virtue could join Blackpool today

Liverpool midfielder Matty Virtue could join Blackpool on a permanent deal today, according to a report from[Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail](https://twitter.com/MikeKeegan_DM/status/1090911227998625792).

The 21-year-old has never made a first-team appearance for Liverpool and it looks like he’s about to seal a move to the League One side.

Virtue, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Notts County, joined Liverpool when he was 11 years old after he’d been released by Chelsea.

He’s come through Liverpool’s youth set-up and was named as the captain of the club’s U23 side.

However, despite his rise through the club’s academy, Virtue has not been able to break into Jurgen Klopp’s plans and as such, a move away could be in the best interests of all parties.

At this time, there is no word if Liverpool will be receiving a fee for the midfielder or if he’ll be moving on a free transfer.
