# Milner could be back in the Liverpool squad to face City

James Milner will be in contention to face his former side Manchester City on Thursday night.

[Sky Sports News reports](https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/1080463858467332097) that the player could be named in the Liverpool squad to face their title rivals after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The midfielder had been considered as a doubt for the game but has recently been pictured back in training.

The meeting with Pep Guardiola’s men is one that many believe could go a long way to deciding where the Premier League title ends up this season.

Liverpool are currently seven points ahead of City in third and six in front of Spurs, who occupy second place.

Victory against City on Thursday would open up a 10-point gap over Guardiola’s side at the top of the table and would undoubtedly give the Reds plenty of confidence to go on secure the Premier League title this season.
