# Multiple clubs alerted as Liverpool consider Harry Wilson’s future

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/02/08/statistic-concerning-trent-and-robertson-highlights-liverpools-struggles/) winger [Harry Wilson](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/10/29/wilson-suffers-injury-blow-on-loan-at-cardiff/) could be on the summer wish list of multiple Premier League clubs, according to a report from [Wales Online](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-leeds-united-burnley-19791669).

The report follows [The Athletic’s claim](https://theathletic.com/2366216/2021/02/07/jurgen-klopp-liverpool-football/) that the Reds could sanction a summer clearout in order to raise funds for their own summer targets whilst trimming the squad.

Wilson, a Wales international who is currently on loan at Championship side Cardiff City, could be targeted by the likes of Aston Villa, Leeds United and Burnley, with the latter [making a late bid](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/harry-wilson-burnley-transfer-liverpool-18984377) to sign the 23-year-old last summer.

Capable of playing on either wing and in a central attacking role, Wilson has enjoyed a strong season in south Wales, contributing [three goals and seven assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdaten/spieler/279455) in 20 appearances.

However, those [numbers are down](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/leistungsdaten/spieler/565822) on another Reds loanee in Harvey Elliott, who at just 17 has [been sensational](https://talksport.com/football/798689/liverpool-harvey-elliot-stunning-goal-on-loan-blackburn/) in the Championship for Blackburn this season.

Truthfully, Wilson has never looked like becoming a first team regular at Anfield. Despite being on the [periphery of Jurgen Klopp’s plans](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpools-harry-wilson-set-premier-16711270) on occasion, the Welshman has always faced an uphill battle to oust Mohamed Salah to obtain his favoured right-sided position.

Valued at £12.6m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/marktwertverlauf/spieler/279455), selling the left-footer in the summer could generate a nice boost to the coffers for Klopp as he looks to potentially build again after a [season of relative upheaval](https://www.premierleague.com/tables).

Clutching at straws perhaps, but sales of four or five of the fringe players at Liverpool could [surmount to roughly £70m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/marktwertanalyse/verein/31) in funds raised – money which, reinvested properly, could provide valuable new options for the Reds next term.
