# Napoli reject offer from Atletico for Reds target Insigne

Atletico Madrid have reportedly seen a €50 million bid rejected by Napoli for Liverpool target Lorenzo Insigne.

According to a report from Il Mattino, as cited by [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/napoli-no-alla-prima-offerta-dell-atletico-per-insigne-46030), the Serie A giants showed no hesitation in turning down the opening offer from Diego Simeone’s side, with the Italian’s future at Stadio San Paolo uncertain.

Liverpool have long been linked with a swoop for Insigne. [Reports](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/02/08/liverpool-made-insigne-enquiry-in-january/) indicated that the Reds had made an enquiry over a possible deal for the player during the January transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp is also [understood](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/03/12/klopp-a-great-admirer-of-insigne/) to be an admirer of the wide attacker, who has been a key part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at Napoli during his maiden campaign in charge.

The 27-year-old has found the back of the net on nine occasions in Serie A this season and has also contributed with six assists.

Liverpool are not the only Premier League side linked with a summer swoop for Insigne. Arsenal are [reportedly](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/03/28/arsenal-hold-strong-interest-in-liverpool-target-insigne/) interested in landing the diminutive forward when the transfer window opens.
